Two Maidens and One Uncle…

A fabulous new bar, Uncle Barry’s, has opened its doors this week at 58 5th Avenue in Park Slope. We are excited to be offered on their menu alongside some delicious cheeses and well-curated beers.

To celebrate, we are sharing a very special cocktail recipe created by Jake Trebach, son of Uncle Barry and co-owner of the bar!

Lord Marmalade

2 oz Rye
1/4 lemon
1/2 simple syrup
1 egg white
Barspoon MP orange + bourbon marmalade
1 dash orange bitters
2 sprigs of mint

Crack egg white into one half of the Hawthorne shaker and build the whiskey, lemon, simple, marmalade and bitters in the other

Dry shake for at least 30 seconds

Add ice and one sprig of mint

Shake again and strain into glass filled with ice

Garnish with second sprig of mint

Cheers!

making sure the bourbon is still good…it is.
